From technique and comprehension of the many nuances, to ascertaining issues with creative ruts and flaws in balance ,dynamics and control which are often imperceptible to the player.
"Dave Schoepke introduced me to the study drum set when I was 14 years old and instilled in me a love for the practice. Through his patient and flexible teaching style I was encouraged to move at my own pace through our material together, addressing technical barriers and musical concepts as they related to the music I was playing at the time. As a player, teacher, and mentor, Dave demonstrates versatility and professionalism at every moment, both on and off stage. I continue my own musical pursuance with curiosity, discipline, and humility, all lessons I learned early on from studying with Dave."

"I started taking lessons with Dave at the ripe age of 11. Throughout school, I was involved in Jazz Band, Wind Symphony, Marching Band, and a gigging Blues Band. Dave’s tutelage, patience and his ability to adapt to the learning style of his students, helped establish and develop the skills needed for me to be a working musician. Now with hundreds of professional gigs played, Dave’s teaching still comes out in my playing."

"I cannot recommend Dave enough for lessons. He’s a working musician and phenomenal teacher who has been teaching my school-aged son drums for the last 4 years. A father himself, Dave is patient and makes lessons both educational and fun. My son just started band at school and is well ahead of the curve. Dave’s method includes note reading, theory, and technique while also leaving time for my son to play with his favorite songs. Life is busy and Dave is extremely flexible with lesson times and is a good communicator, willing to work with our family schedule. I highly recommend Dave - an excellent teacher and more importantly a good human."

"Playing a musical instrument has always been a desire , but I’d never seem to have the time. At 60 and being a woman I finally forced myself to take on the challenge of playing drums. I decided to start taking lessons from Dave. I am amazed at how much I have learned. I truly believe in order to succeed you must have someone who is patient encouraging and an experienced musician themselves. Dave has totally made this journey For me a lot easier than I ever imagined it could be. When I am done with my lesson, I am always anxious to go home and try it on my own set. That’s a sign of a great teacher. You are never too old or too young to take on a new challenge. Thank you, Dave Schoepke for sharing your talents.
Happy drumming y’all"

"Dave is an amazing teacher. He thought my son to play jazz drums well enough to participate in Hartland Arrowhead (WI) jazz band in no time. And he is the most creative player I’ve ever had in my studio in 25+ years!"
Vinnie Millevolte
"Dave Schoepke inspired me to be the professional musician I am today! In addition to being a world class touring and recording drummer, Dave is a great private teacher and mentor for any level of percussion student. He helped me achieve all of my goals through middle and high school, including youth orchestras and even professional drumming gigs. While keeping a focused lesson plan, his easy going nature makes you feel like you’re working with a friend!"
